As a travel agent I've used a lot of insurance companies down through the years. For the money, in my opinion Atlas is one of the best. Their customer service and response to claims are very good. All major medical categories are covered, and they also have reasonable pre-existing coverage. Excellent emergency evac services too (7 of my customers have needed it and the service was outstanding). Bottom line? This is quality travel medical insurance at very attractive prices. I highly recommend it.

| Don't travel without insurance - we learned the hard way. |
We're retired, which affords my husband and I the freedom to travel extensively. We usually take several extended trips every year. We never even thought about travel insurance until my husband became ill while we were in Australia in December. Thankfully, it wasn't life threatening, but we had to pay the medical expenses out of pocket, and it wasn't cheap by any means.
Now we always buy travel medical insurance for our trips. I searched around, and after comparing a lot of policies, decided to go with Atlas. They offer an extensive amount of coverage, and the prices are very good. When I've talked to them their customer service has always been very pleasant and accommodating. We hope to never have to use it, but we feel more comfortable now when we travel, just in case something does go wrong.
For those traveling frequently, I suggest that you give careful consideration to insuring yourself while traveling. You don't want to be caught without any medical coverage when you're away from home. I recommend Atlas, their coverage is top notch and their prices are very competitive.

| A good insurance company |

This is to review the Atlas travel insurance. My family and family friends took a long awayed trip to Egypt. We enjoyed it very much. My father in law became sick while there and needed medical help. I called the Atlas company and they were very polite and helpful to me. They advised to make claim document and send all bills and receips to their company, which I accomplished and Atlas paid their part. We are thankful for a good insurance company to help us when it needed. |

| Boy were we lucky |
My wife was injured in an accident while we were vacationing in Cancun. As it turns out, we were very lucky because this was the first time we had ever bought any kind of travel insurance. This was only our third time out of the country, so we never really saw a need for it.
Actually, a friend of mine at work mentioned it to me, so I decided it might be a good idea to look around for some. I found Atlas on the Web, and their scope of coverage seemed pretty impressive, so I bought a policy. That was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made.
When I called to report the accident, they told me exactly what to do, what forms I would need, etc. The Live Travel service was a big help in rescheduling our transportation back home. Once we got all the information submitted, they paid the claim very quickly. Needless to say, I was impressed (and thankful!)
I highly recommend Atlas travel insurance. We will sure never travel without it again!

While on a cruise this summer with my daughter, she fell and badly broke her leg. We had to end our trip to get her the medical attention she required, which was surgery to reset her leg and several days in the hospital. When it came time to file the claim, the Atlas agent was very courteous and helpful, and they reimbursed me promptly. My only complaint was that they didn't reimburse for the interruption of our vacation. I thought they should have covered that, but they didn't. But otherwise, I was satisfied with their coverage of our situation.

Thankfully, haven't ever needed to file a claim yet, so I can't really comment on how Atlas would handle it. But I travel abroad a lot, and I've always liked Atlas's prices and what their policies cover. For the most part, if I get sick, I'm covered. It's easy and convenient to buy, and the customer service is knowledgeable and helpful. One thing I like about it is that you can buy the insurance even after you have started on your trip and you can change the itineray without any hassels. So far, Atlas has filled the bill just fine.

First, let me say that I'm very pleased with the customer service the Atlas company showed me when I had to file a claim. They kept in touch with me throughout the process, and when they needed more information from me they promptly called and asked for it. I've had experience with other insurance companies that just put your claim to the side and let the clock run if they need something else from you. Atlas' customer service dept. was always very responsive and they seemed as though they actually cared about me and my claim.
I took sick while I was in Germany visiting relatives. Because I knew my regular healthcare insurance didn't cover me out of the country, I purchased an insurance policy from Atlas. They reimbursed me quickly, and without a lot of headaches that some other companies give when they owe you money.
I don't get out of the country very often, but when I do, I'll definitely get more travel insurance from this company. They stand behind their product and do what they say, and that's all you can ask.
